Hidden Cameras – Controversial but necessary?

Tissue box hidden cameraCameras are a fact of life these days, and chances are that whenever you are outside of your own home, images are being captured of you pretty much wherever you are. Many of these cameras are not hidden, but you still do not know that your image is being taken.

A separate category of Hidden Camera is becoming more and more popular though amongst homes and businesses where a keen eye needs to be kept on staff and others.

It is nowadays acceptable for these types of cameras to be used in the workplace. In fact, when you are at work, your time and privacy are now compromised and actually belong to your employer. In most scenarios, your employer is legally allowed to watch over the actions of his/her staff.

This surveillance though must not cross the line of endangering public decency, and therefore the hidden camera should obviously only be used in public areas of the workplace or office. Putting one in the toilet areas for example would be questionable both ethically and legally!

The sheer number of the different styles of these hidden cameras available now is astounding. They come in every shape and size, with recording facilities, infra-red activation, body heat activation to name but a few. You can even buy hidden cameras disguised as tissue boxes (pictured)!

The cost of these products has declined massively over recent years too, meaning that they are now accessible to all.
